Repair the cheap failures, replace the real ones

A disposal that hums but will not spin is jammed, not dead, the motor is fighting something in the grinding chamber, and forcing it just trips the overload. A disposal that does nothing at all often needs its reset button or the jam cleared with the hex key most owners never knew shipped with it. We fix those honestly, and we will show you the trick so you are not paying for the same visit twice.

Leaks are where repair stops making sense: a leak from the bottom housing means the internal seals are gone, and that unit is finished. We replace failed disposals, upgrade undersized builder-grade units that jam monthly, and do first-time installations where there has never been one, including the wiring, the dishwasher connection, and a proper seal at the sink flange. Same-day across Vancouver and Clark County, with the price set before we start.

What we do

  • Jams & humming units. Cleared properly, overload reset, cause named.
  • Leaks. Flange, hose, and housing leaks diagnosed honestly.
  • Replacements. Failed units swapped, sealed, and tested same day.
  • Upgrades. Quieter, stronger units that stop the monthly jam.
  • First-time installs. Wiring, dishwasher tie-in, and drain rework included.
  • Odor & drainage issues. Trap and line cleared, not masked with citrus.

Call us when…

  • It hums but will not spin
  • It trips the reset every few uses
  • Water drips from the unit's underside
  • It jams on anything tougher than soup

Had a kitchen drain issue and got set up a day later. Jason R. showed up right on time, laid out the options with an estimate, and had it flowing again in no time, no mess left behind.

Disposal questions

My disposal hums but does not grind. Is it dead?
Usually no. The hum is the motor stalled against a jam. Kill the switch, clear the jam with the hex socket under the unit, press the red reset, and it often lives. If it happens monthly, the unit is undersized or worn, and we will give you the honest replacement math.
It is leaking underneath. Repair or replace?
Depends where. A leak at the sink flange or a hose connection is a repair. A drip from the bottom of the housing means the internal seals have failed, and that is a replacement, no fix holds on a rusted-through grinding chamber.
What should never go down a disposal?
Grease, coffee grounds, egg shells, fibrous peels, and pasta are the classic repeat offenders, they either coat the line or wedge the impellers. The disposal grinds it, but your drain line is what pays. If a line keeps clogging past the disposal, that is a drain cleaning conversation.
