Process

Repipe planning

Inspection separates a bad section from a failing system.

STEP 01

Map the existing plumbing

We identify materials, routes, shutoffs, pressure problems, prior repairs, and concealed runs.

STEP 02

Find the source

We rule out the regulator, meter, service line, supply, and fixtures before blaming interior piping.

STEP 03

Set the scope

The written plan covers routes, sizes, shutoffs, testing, access, and finish repair.

Diagnosis

Repair or repipe?

One leak rarely justifies a whole-home project.

Repair or repipe

Repair isolated damage; consider repiping when leaks, corrosion, or weak flow affect several areas.

Pressure source

Repiping only improves pressure when the distribution piping causes the restriction.

Work sequence

Bathrooms, access, occupancy, and remodeling determine the sequence and restoration plan.

Eric was quick to dig down to the leak, and quick to find and fix it. Very pleasant to work with, I'll call True Plumbing any time.

Repiping questions

What pipe materials are common in Clark County homes?
Galvanized is common in many 1960s homes, copper in the 1970s–80s, CPVC in parts of the 1990s–early 2000s, and PEX in newer work. Remodels can mix them, so inspect the home.
How do I know whether my house needs repiping?
Repeated leaks, corrosion, discolored water, and poor pressure across several areas suggest a system problem. One isolated failure does not.
Should I repair another leak or repipe the house?
Repair isolated damage when nearby pipe is sound. Repipe when failures repeat or smaller repairs will not restore reliability.
Will repiping improve low water pressure?
Only if restricted, corroded, undersized, or poorly routed interior pipe is the cause. Check the supply, regulator, meter, service line, elevation, and demand first.
How do I check my pipe material without opening walls?
Photograph exposed pipe near the water heater, utility area, crawlspace, or main shutoff. A plumber must verify concealed or mixed systems.
Can a remodel be the right time to replace only part of the piping?
Yes. Open walls can make a section replacement practical, but assess the remaining system first.
What replacement material will be used for my repipe?
Layout, water conditions, access, code, and connections decide the material. The proposal should list pipe, sizes, fittings, supports, testing, and permits.
