How long does a replacement take?
A same-for-same swap typically runs a few hours on site. If your old unit has already failed, tell us when you call, we fit failed-tank replacements in same day whenever we can, including one customer who called at 2 pm and had hot water again that evening.
Do I really need a permit for a water heater?
In Washington, yes. The permit and inspection exist because a bad install can leak carbon monoxide, discharge scalding water unsafely, or fail in an earthquake. An unpermitted install can also complicate a home sale. We pull the permit as part of the job.
What is the expansion tank for?
When water heats it expands. On a closed system, one with a pressure regulator or check valve at the meter, that pressure has nowhere to go and hammers your pipes and fixtures. The expansion tank absorbs it. If yours is missing or waterlogged we will show you before touching anything.
